Promethease tries to produce .exe files which are compatible with WINE. As of 0.1.140 it seems to again work well. However the version of IE inside my test wine, seemed to not understand one of the steps necessary to make a payment. I hope to resolve this in a future release, but it would be helpful to hear from a few WINE users to confirm it also works the same for them. Unpaid runs should work fine.

In particular I've had to work around 2 calls to tempfile.mkdtemp and .mkstmp.

launching a browser works, but the version of fakeIE doesn't seem to understand the redirect to the full url.

Its become clear that www.pyinstaller.org will produce a better linux solution, than the current py2exe+wine route. I can't work on it today, but I am interested in providing this shortly.
