Abacavir is the generic name of an antiviral drug used primarily to treat HIV+ and AIDS patients. It is prescribed under the trade name Ziagen as well as in the combination formulations Trizivir (abacavir, zidovudine and lamivudine) and Kivexa/Epzicom.
