rs7646054 is a SNP in the ARHGEF3 gene.
A study of 769 Australian female siblings found that the rs7646054(G) allele was significantly associated with lower bone mineral density (BMD) and thus osteoporosis in an age-related manner. Significant associations with hip and spine BMD were confirmed (p = 0.003-0.038), as well as an association with fracture rate (p = 0.02).
[PMID 19727905] Common variants in FLNB/CRTAP, not ARHGEF3 at 3p, are associated with osteoporosis in southern Chinese women.
