Talk:Haplogroup Y (Y-DNA)

There is no Haplogroup Y in the Y-DNA Haplogroup Tree 2015 (ISOGG or others), it contains the main haplogroups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T. See ISOGG Y-DNA Haplogroup Tree 2015. Y refers to the Chromosome Y so it would be confusing to use it as a haplogroup of Y-DNA Haplogroup Tree. The root of the Y-DNA Haplogroup Tree 2015 is Haplogroup A.


I have prepared the page Y-DNA Haplogroup which is comparable with the page MtDNA Haplogroup as there are two haplogroup systems, for Y-DNA and mtDNA. Both of these systems have haplogroups with alphabetic names. These two phylogenetic trees (Y-DNA and mtDNA) need now some adjustment and streamlining in SNPedia.
