Re: this I think (G;G) is *slightly* preferable to GG. To see why consider an rs# with more than 2 alleles. Now consider when the possible alleles are either 'A', 'G', or 'GG' (ie an insertion of an extra G). With the (A;GG) notation it is clearer what it intended, where GG is more ambiguous. It could be 2 copies of the single G allele, or it could be one copy of the insertion. This isn't worth a lot of effort in changing, but it does mean that while your text summaries were helpful, the changes you made to the genotypes are counter productive. --- cariaso
