Strong association for ability to discriminate pitch found in Finnish study of 767 individuals belonging in 76 families [PMID 24614497]. Posterior probability of LD given as 34% to trait Carl Seashore's subtest of pitch SP, but 84% to overall tested musical aptitude. Situated in protocadherin 7 gene, PCDH7 which has been suggested to play a role in cochlear and amygdaloid complexes.
