rs10049088, rs1482853, rs17451107 and rs900400 are in strong linkage disequilibrium (r2>0.93) with each other. [PMID 25244357
] reports from the study itself and drawing from previous studies and meta-analysis that while rs900400 is strogly associated with birth adiposity (sum of skinfolds), that association doesn't bear over to childhood adiposity or adulthood BMI [PMID 23202124
]. This somewhat remarkable because childhood adoposity is known to be associated with adverse metabolic outcomes [PMID 14710101], but according to present studies rs900400 is not responsible for them [PMID 22484627
], its effects disappearing by 3 months of age [PMID 23202124
].
