Primary biliary cirrhosis

Primary biliary cirrhosis, also known as primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), is a serious autoimmune disease that slowly destroys the bile ducts and eventually leads to liver damage. Women are about ten times more likely than men to develop this illness. About 1 in 1000 women over age 40 is thought to be affected. The folowing Wikipedia entry gives more information.
