A Promethease user with the rs1265181(G;G) genotype submitted the following:
"I am a 37 year old caucasian female of European descent. I was diagnosed with guttate psoriasis at 23 years old. I had strep throat, which activated a severe response. Guttate psoriasis covered 75% of my body for three months. I still get patches, particularly after illness and sometimes its stress induced."
While not a survey by any means, other non-Asian Promethease users with psoriasis and rs1265181(G;G) have contacted us, implying (perhaps) that the association of this variant with psoriasis does cross ethnicities.
