[PMID 19117981] In seven different populations studied, rs9623117(C) was consistently higher in aggressive prostate cancer cases than in controls (p = 5.0 x 10e-7). The odds ratio (OR) of allele C for aggressive prostate cancer was estimated to be 1.18 (CI: 1.11-1.26). This SNP was also associated with increased risk for nonaggressive prostate cancer, with an odds ratio of 1.11 (CI: 1.04 - 1.19, p = 0.004).
