rs1800407 is one of several SNPs in the OCA2 gene that are associated with eye color. This gene (oculocutaneous albinism) is also known as the human P protein gene or DN10. Researchers in Australia have also found that the R419Q variant of the OCA2 gene (AA at this position, reported as TT on 23andMe) is associated with somewhat higher melanoma risk in people of European ancestry.
