In a survey that scanned 80 genes, no SNPs with a large effect were found to be associated with bipolar disorder. However, the SNP with the largest association was rs1170191, in first intron of the diacylglycerol kinase eta DGKH gene. The odds ratio for the risk allele of this SNP is 1.59 (p = 1.5x10e-8, experiment-wide p<0.01).[PMID 17486107]
