A study in a North Han Chinese population ( [PMID 27144521] ) failed to replicate an association between rs2718058 and late-onset Alzheimer's disease (LOAD) risk that had originally been identified in a Caucasian population. The same group's meta-analysis confirmed a significant if modest association between SNP rs2718058 and LOAD risk (OR = 1.08, 95%CI = 1.05–1.11) in the whole meta-analysis population, but still found only a nonsignificant trend in the Chinese subgroup (OR = 1.05, 95%CI = 0.93–1.17).
