There is apparently an error in the abstract of [PMID 22987918
], when the "protective" allele of this SNP is mentioned. The "protective" allele is C, not G.
In dbSNP, the alleles listed on the plus strand are A/C. In this article, both SLC4A5 SNPs are being referred to as on the plus strand, and the "referent" allele for rs10177833 is listed as A in Table 3, and in the third paragraph in the Discussion section, the allele possibilities are (correctly) listed as A or C for this SNP. All this is consistent with dbSNP. Therefore, the 'G' mention in the abstract is likely to be a publication error.Greg (talk) 18:03, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
