rs6013029 is a SNP in the CTNNBL1 gene.
[PMID 19228371] Found no evidence of early onset obesity or increased body mass index association with this SNP in several populations (~3,000 cases overall) of Central European (German) ancestry.
While the older [PMID 18325910] a study of ~1,900 Caucasians turned up associations between several SNPs in the CTNNBL1 gene and increased risk for obesity, of which rs6013029 was statistically the strongest, with an odds ratio of 1.42 for (T;T) homozgyotes compared to (G;G) homozygotes. This SNP achieved experiment-wise p values of 2.69 x 10-7 for body mass index (BMI) and of 4.99 x 10-8 for fat mass, respectively. The rs6013029(T) allele confers an average increase in BMI and fat mass of 2.67 kg/m(2) and 5.96 kg, respectively, compared to rs6013029(G).
