Also known as M1316V or p.Met1316Val, rs1061325 represents a common variant in the clathrin heavy chain like 1 CLTCL1 gene on chromosome 22. The (T) allele is associated with the Met (M) codon, and the (C) with Val (V), as represented on the forward/plus strand.

A 2019 publication gathered a fair amount of attention in the popular press by speculating that the V1316 allele has a selective advantage in processing carbohydrate-rich diets (presumably including those with lots of sugar) of farmers compared to the M1316 allele found at somewhat higher frequencies in hunter-gatherers (who theoretically consume fewer carbs).
