rs10893081 is a SNP in the promoter region upstream of the ZNF202 gene. This SNP is also known as -660A>G SNP of this gene (note orientation as discussed often varies from the orientation in dbSNP).
Based on (1) a cross-sectional study of 5,355 Danish individuals with regard to severe atherosclerosis, (2) 10,431 Danish individuals with regard to ischemic heart disease (IHD), and (3) verification in 2 independent case-control studies including, respectively, 942 and 1,549 cases with IHD and 8,998 controls, rs10893081 was associated with risk. Specifically, rs10893081(C;C) yielded an odds ratio for severe atherosclerosis of 2.01 (CI: 1.34 to 3.01), and prospectively, a hazard ratio for IHD of 1.21 (CI: 1.02 to 1.43).[PMID 18652945]
