rs573225 is a SNP in the glucose-6-phosphatase, catalytic, 2 G6PC2 gene.

Based on a study of 734 young European children with obesity, the insulinogenic index (IGI) of insulin secretion was determined to be associated with rs573225 by linear regression analysis and was 30% greater in (T;T) or (C;T) genotypes than in (C;C) obese children (alleles oriented with respect to dbSNP). rs573225 was also associated with fasting glucose.
