Two SNPs on ch 1q in the CD244 gene, rs3766379 and rs6682654, were found to be associated with risk for rheumatoid arthritis in two independent Japanese cohorts (p = 3.23 x 10e-8) and p = 7.45 x 10e-8). The odds ratio reported for the more common rs6682654(G) allele, as oriented in dbSNP and not the publication, was 1.34 (CI: 1.15-1.55, p = 0.0002).[PMID 18794858]
[PMID 19435719] Association of CD40 with rheumatoid arthritis confirmed in a large UK case-control study.
[PMID 20437071] Single nucleotide polymorphisms of CD244 gene predispose to renal and neuropsychiatric manifestations with systemic lupus erythematosus.
