rs7651446 is a SNP within the TCDD-inducible poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase TIPARP gene on chromosome 3.

Although not the first report, the first large validation associating the rs7651446(T) allele with increased risk for epithelial ovarian cancer came from a study of 18,174 individuals from 43 studies from the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium.[PMID 23535730OA-icon.png] Subsequently, another study of over 18,000 patients, including BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers as well as a meta-analysis, validated this association as the strongest (in terms of increasing risk) of a total of 18 known risk loci. The rs7651466(T) allele was reported as having a hazard ratio of between 1.50 - 1.94, depending on genetic background, with p values 10e-8 or lower.[PMID 25581431OA-icon.png]
